Organic & Regenerative Practices for a Sustainable Future
At our farm, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We embrace regenerative practices that prioritize soil health, animal welfare, and environmental restoration. By raising grass-fed animals and rotating pastures, we naturally enrich the land while reducing our ecological footprint. Our methods not only provide nutrient-dense food but also create a healthier ecosystem for future generations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Since purchasing the property in 2020, we have used only organic and regenerative practices. We are pursuing our organic certification this year, 2025. The livestock conceived after we are certified organic can be labeled as organically born and raised. Technically, our meat is organic, but we cannot label it as such yet 😊
The EPA defines organic food as grown and processed using no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Pesticides derived from natural sources (such as biological pesticides) may be used in producing organically grown food. For livestock to be classified as organic, the property on which they are raised must be certified organic.Â
Regenerative Agricultural practices focus on improving soil health, biodiversity, and climate resilience. It is based on the reality that a complex natural ecosystem supports farms and the organisms living on them. If you work with the balance of that natural ecosystem, all organisms will thrive without additional inputs associated with conventional practices. Healthier soil means healthier forage and healthier animals living off that forage.
Yes! And, they eat lots of other pasture forage as well. At Sunset Springs Ranch we refer to our animals as pasture-fed: because they eat lots of things growing here, including select leaves from trees and bushes and lots of plants not in the grass family. We love that our livestock know exactly what is safe for them to eat and what to avoid. Adult animals do not eat toxic plants unless there is nothing else to eat. That is one of the reasons why we keep our livestock littles with their mommas longer, to learn and thrive on our pasture environment.
Clean refers to eating food as close as possible to its natural state.Â
Nutrient-dense foods are high in nutrients but relatively low in calories and contain vitamins, minerals, complex carbohydrates, lean protein, and healthy fats.Â
At Sunset Springs Ranch, we strive to raise our livestock in a naturally healthy and happy environment. We do not manage their reproductive cycle including allowing our mommas to dictate their weaning schedule. This accomplishes three important principles for us and our animals:
- Reduced stress and disruption to the animal's natural state
- Strong immunity to the environment of our pastures
- One reproductive cycle yearly
These principles are behind our clean nutrient-dense meats, raised naturally on pasture forage grown using organic regenerative agricultural practices.
None. At this time, using our organic regenerative practices, we have been able to avoid the use of antibiotics or vaccines. We continue to focus on building resilience in our pasture environment to support this principle for the meats we sell.
